This took me anywhere from 12 to 14 hours I think... I started it a few weeks ago but for some reason today I couldn't stop, worked on it around 8 hours straight. Hand is cramping. Not smart.
Shades of Mystification is a delightful fanfiction by that I'm addicted to. For some reason, I decided to take a scene from one of the chapters and... make it a comic book cover? I don't know. After staring at it so many hours, I keep forgetting it isn't a real comic book. I would buy it. I'll link to a version without the comic book stuff later, but I honestly like it more with it...! I'm also posting the "painting" of Light as another dev since it took me a few hours of happy happy joy.
Anyway, made in Adobe PS7 with my tablet. L and Death Note and Light are all (c) Ohba and Obata and probably some large corporation things, but the story and idea is (c) Hella and this picture (and the picture inside it!) are mine.
I want to...I don't know...scream and yell or burst into tears of joy or just...some epic outpouring of emotion!
Thank you SO much! You've got it spot ON! I can't believe you've drawn almost exactly what was in my head without me even...it's just...wow. I think I love you, can I say that? That I love you? Because right now...wow...I'm just completely overwhelmed. Thank you so very, very, ridiculously much. I'm almost tempted to post another chapter to celebrate! (but I'm still a bit behind on my writing ) So, I don't know - I'll have to post SOMETHING!
Thank you again, you have no idea how much this means to me! Did I mention that I love you for this? Yes...I did? Okay well...just once more for the road perhaps.
God I wish I had a tablet or something, to make you some return art from GM. But alas I do not - and I can't for the life of me work Photoshop. I started the program up so my sister could show me. The first thing out of my mouth was 'What's a layer?", She burst into peals of laughter, patted me on the back, handed me a paintbrush and said, "I think you're better off with this." What else are sisters for?
Yaaaay! You like it. *grins* You gave a really clear description of L and the gallery, soooo this image was stuck in my head. I love you back though! SoM is fun to read. And create stuff for. Part of me's tempted to do a cover per chapter... but I think I'd kill myself. Also, it would eat all my writing time.
Your sister sounds fun. I think I had that same conversation with my sister at some point-- I can't remember which of us was on what side though. Oh well! You're just old school with your art, which is awesome!
L looks completely effing crazy, honey. XD The pic of Raito is very soft-looking, but as that's a separate picture, I'll leave a separate review. But naughty L. XD
(L being a painter also reminds me of when you made me freeze while I was painting around the Silent Hill cabinet because you said I was sitting like L.)
Slipshod scribbly blue background = divine. XD And divinely Shika. I mean, divinely lazy.
He's supposed to look guilty and caught. XD But yes, 'crazy' is also appropriate. No one's ever accused L of being anywhere near the definition of 'normal', hey?
You made such a cute L pose!!! Omg, I need to scan that. *snickering* You were holding the paintbrush just so...
Lol! Shh, the background took... seconds and seconds to draw. I like Ryuk's crazy disjointed eyes staring over the "publishing" information in the upper left. Font = "Averen". I had to check. XD I thought it was weirdly perfect. (I'm thinking of adding a Japanese translation under the title for lulz.)
I miss the story too! We need to pester Hella on her livejournal and see if she responds. Hmmm.
Thank you! I laughed at this scene as well-- or grinned crazily, one of those. So many wonderful scenes...
